CL&I Mini Courses
Crochet Mini Course Video Help:
Sign Up for Mini Courses is currently closed. Check back at the beginning of next semester.
6th Grade courses will take place during Advisory.
7th and 8th Grade courses will take place in homeroom.
Students may only sign up for one course per semester.
Once course dates are established, students will receive a pass with the dates of their course.
Students must keep the pass for the entire semester.
On occasion, a course may be cancelled for the day due to an unforeseen event in the CL&I.
Students who are behind on homework are not to attend mini courses until they have permission from their advisory or homeroom teacher.
Any misbehaviors during a mini-course will result in dismissal from the course.
All courses will take place in the CL&I.
Course Descriptions:
Stop Motion-Animation Movie Making- Students will use clay or other items as characters to make a movie from a collection of still shot photos.
Movie Making Using Special Effects- Students will app smash using special effects apps for the creation of a video to be displayed during advisory/homeroom time.
Students must have parental permission to have videos uploaded as “unlisted” into YouTube.
Digital Painting and Photography- Students are given weekly themes as they create digital art using an ipad and laptop. Select pieces will be displayed on the CL&I hallway monitor.
Crochet- Students will learn the basic steps of crochet and have the choice of making a bracelet, hair accessory, or bookmark. If the student has a crochet hook and yarn, please bring them to the first class.
Video Game Coding- Students will use the coding/programming software, Scratch, to make a computer-generated animation. See sample: http://youtu.be/9cCvWpu1jkE
Chess- Students will compete in chess tournament-like play with player rankings kept from week to week.
